Good afternoon,
I don’t think I’ve ever made a quilt with half square triangles until now, I definitely have learned a lot in doing so, I don’t know why I thought they were easy to put together and would take up no time. So when the time came to work on a half square triangle quilt, I thought why not 11,604 pieces. It is finished, it took approximately five months, I didn’t work on any other piecing projects. I will say I have a lot more respect for people that work with half square triangle quilts.
My next challenge is to do a quilt with 15,000 pieces and then some day one with 20,000 pieces. I’m not sure why, just another adventure.
I am taking a block of the month this year, something very unusual for me which I am really enjoying. It is through a quilt shop called A Different Box of Crayons. It is the study of color and we are using different fabrics such as silk, upholstery fabric and waive so in it with cottons. The two pictures below contain the first three months, I cannot wait for the next month, the fabrics are such a treat.
I’m also doing their pincushion challenge, just having so much fun with it, it is instant gratification to finish something.
I am also working on this Baltimore quilt, 42 blocks and a beautiful border, going to be a long-term project. Love the appliqué.
All the patterns are full sized and come in a box for the Baltimore blocks.
I also worked on the Crabapple Hill embroidery stitches for February.
Just loving all my projects right now. Hope you are finding something special to work on.
Happy stitching, Rosemary
Enjoy all your projects, they are amazing !!
Love your HST quilt. That is a LOT of piecing. Enjoy relaxing with your applique and embroidery!
love, love them all!
Everything is so beautiful!! I can’t wait to see these at the Jane Retreat! My favorite is the half square triangle quilt though. It is stunning❤️. I can’t believe you kept track of all those pieces.
I had to show my husband that one, and he “Wowed!” about three times and said I can tell you he is very very impressed- very fricken impressed. (His words😊). He is a metal fabricator and his margin of error is 1/32″. He said your points are perfect. Anyhoo, thought I would share. I love your appliqué pieces also.
Oh Rosemary your projects are so beautiful. What pattern is the HST nightmare? Also, the “flower” picture after the pin cushions, what pattern is that one? I have the Baltimore Album box – I really need to work on some of my BAS investments!
You have really made some great things since the last post! Job well done on the HST quilt!!!!
Hugs
