Happy day,
Have you ever started let’s say six quilt projects at the same time, I am just so inspired lately that I figured why not. It never hurts to start new projects, what is another UFO in a sewing room anyways. 😊😊
The first project I want to start is a Baltimore album quilt , it is taken me a while to figure out which one I really want to do. I’m sure this will be a 10 year project, but I’m really looking forward to that though. The one I did choose has 42 16 inch blocks, and the border has about 2000 pieces to appliqué. It is just so beautiful and should finish 107 x 119. It is the Samuel Williams Baltimore album quilt.
I love how the patterns come folded in The box. If any of you have the patterns and are willing to sell them, please let me know. (Ryquilter1@msn.com) I have some friends that are looking for the patterns. If you are working on it or want to start working on it, would love to hear from you.
I love this English paper piecing pattern, can’t wait to start working on these pretty plates.
I love the Wickersham album quilt, another long term project, as there are 61 appliqué blocks and 20 half blocks.
I have a project picked out in Brigitte Giblin’s new book and another project in Margaret Mews’ book.
I have always wanted to make the Jane Austen quilt just like the original, so that is definitely on my list.
I also have a antique quilt that I really want to reproduce and I am in the process of finding the owner. It’s a pretty big list and you know I just figured why not start all of them. Even if I just make a block here and there, I heard it’s going to be a long winter in Michigan anyways.
Enjoy your Sunday, will post again soon.
Happy stitching,
Rosemary
All your future projects look lovely. It’s ok to start 6 quilts at a time, you always get them finished.
Wow, that is an aggressive list but I can’t wait to see them!
Wow Rosemary, you have a fantastic list there! I got to quilt the Williams quilt but I don’t know if I want to make my own. I started making a quilted diamonds quilt and plan to set it following the Jane Austen quilt with an appliqué center. I’m anxious to see your progress as you work on each of your projects!

Dear Jan,
I have a question about the Samuel Williams Baltimore album quilt, maybe you could help me with an answer.
If each blocks in the quilt are 16 inches, six blocks times seven blocks equal 96 x 112.
The borders would add another 20 inches to the quilt, which would make it 116 x 132.
Do you know how I am off in my measurements because it says on the paper that it measures 107 x 119 ?
Thank you any help would be appreciated, trying to figure things out it started.
Have a great day,
Rosemary Youngs

I love your enthusiastic List of projects!! And each one is not at all easy!!! Regarding the Samuel Williams Album quilt pattern, it was offered for sale through the Baltimore Museum of Art. I don’t know whether it is still available from them, or through the Baltimore Applique Society. I live here in Baltimore, and next time I am close to the museum I can pop in to the store to see if they still have it, if you would like. Or your friends could call the museum shop.
Have fun, and keep all of us posted on your progress.
If I had not made up my mind to finish my UFO’s this year and start again in January, I would start working on the Baltimore Album. It was the first pattern I purchased from Baltimore Applique Society. I wonder if the Museum has anymore of the patterns (in a box) for sale! Your work and projects are so pretty! I love all those hexagons you made and showed in your last post! You are really on a roll, and yes, I believe here in Texas it will be a wet/cold winter, just right for quilting!!!!! Hugs
HAhahahha! I love you, Rosemary!
I was lucky enough to live not so far away from Jane Austen’s house (my son still lives close while we have moved counties away!) and that quilt is exquisite! After all those years it still looks wonderful. I look forward to seeing your version. 😀
