It is cold and blowing snow here in Michigan, a typical day like every other one this winter. I’m not complaining about the cold, my MS does much better when it is colder outside, I just wish the snow would stop. The weatherman has informed us that the next couple of weeks are going to be really cold and the whole month of March and April, the temperatures are going to be below normal.
So today just seems like a silly day to go to that lonely Tupperware box on my ironing board, I pulled out these triangles, LOL, who puts a UFO away like that.
What a mess to untangle the triangles , they go together to form these star blocks.
I’m assuming that these other yellow triangles set the Blocks on point, of course I did not save any instructions and I didn’t save any of the fabrics that are used in the blocks to save as borders.
I look at all those triangles and I remembered, I wanted to make a bug Quilt for one of my grandchildren, the problem was that I chose a pattern that the fabrics were so cut up, you can’t even see the bugs. It kind of made me chuckle, all those triangles and not very many visible bugs. I must of realized that when I was working on the project and just put it in a Tupperware in the closet thinking this is not going to work.
I thought this layout will work just fine. So I assembled the blocks.
The blocks lost some of their points, it definitely was not as precise as foundation piecing but it was going to be finished. I looked all through my closet for a border fabric, none was to be found.
I hunted high,
I hunted low,
Could not find any border fabric to sew.
The snow, the snow,
I did not want to go out,
The snow was falling and I began to pout.
Then in my closet I spied,
A fabric with a cat,
I thought, I would use that.
Does it go, not really, no.
I am no poet, now you know it.
But another project is finished, another one out of theTupperware,
My grandchildren will love it, they won’t care.
I’m definitely done with the poetry, hope you all enjoy the rest of your afternoon. Maybe do something a little silly today.
