Good afternoon from snowy Michigan.
We have plenty of snow here, more snow expected tonight and this weekend and I don’t even want to think about the storm they’re talking about already for next week. This is a photo of me standing in front of my house on the street, you cannot see my house, you can see the neighbors house.
If you have been following along, this is what my ironing board looked like in September when I pulled out all those unfinished projects.
It was full of Tupperware’s of unfinished projects, now this is all I have left.
One lonely box full of projects. What did I work on this week so far. I took these fabrics that were from thimbleberries 2004, three blocks were finished.
I then made six more blocks because the fabrics actually were together in a Tupperware. I wasn’t sure what the original project looked like anymore but I had enough border fabric that I could make nine blocks
Blocks are 12 1/2 and I had just enough fabric for the lattice and the border to make a finished table topper 56 in.².
So now what is left to do, not much. One project I’m saving for my next trip to Shipshewana, it is all cut out and it will be fun to piece together.
Have some bright squares and blocks, will think of a way to put those together next week.
Found some more orphan blocks and one of the Tupperware’s so might make a small Civil War quilt with those.
And this project.
I think for me putting all those projects out on the ironing board and not putting them away made me work on things that I probably wouldn’t of finished. My fabric closet has some room and I can find things. I don’t want you to think I have finished every unfinished project because I’m certain if I look around my sewing room, there are things there that need to be put together.
It certainly feels good to only have a couple of things to go, my goal was to try to finish everything by the end of the December, I am thrilled with how well it has gone.
Stay tuned, stay warm and stay safe.
