Good evening, Happy winter,
I am thinking spring, thinking of the beautiful flowers coming up and the green grass. Not that I don’t love my yard covered with freshly fallen snow, the travel around here this winter has not been very fun.
I have two sets of 1930s newspaper quilt series that I posted on the website. Rosemaryyoungs.com. Patterns are free and they are in a PDF file that you can run off on your computer. There on the monthly free pattern page.
The first set is the French bouquet quilt, it has always been one of my favorite quilts. It contains appliquéd bouquets of forget-me-nots, primroses, orchids, daisies and tulips and many other beautiful flowers from our gardens. Directions are included and so is color suggestions. All of the border blocks are also included, there are 62 pages to this pattern.. I think even just using the border blocks in a quilt would be so pretty..
The second set is the grandmother’s garden quilt, flowers are added to a basket, delightful flowers such as the crocus, roses, harebell, Poppy, Lily, balloonflower, 17 different flowers in all.
Templates are also given for the baskets. “Finishes 90 in.².Remember, the instructions are from the 1930s, it is just fun to read them.
Enjoy the patterns, if you get a quilt finished, I would love to see it.
Stay warm, stay stitching,
