Here are some more photographs that show progress on how to put the sections together for the orphan block quilt.
Section 1 measures 24 1/2 inches long by 88 1/2 long. I put together section 2 the same measurements. Here is section 1 and 2 together.
Section 3 was also the same measurements and I always try to make sure I laid out where the appliqué blocks would go in the next section. I think the placement of the large Appliqué blocks is really important.
The quilt now measures about 88 1/2 inches wide by 75 1/2 inches long. I decided in order to make the quilt more Square the next section would be about 12 1/2 inches instead of 24 1/2 inches long.
Have used up most of my block by now, this is what I have left.
Last section measures 88 1/2 inches wide by 12 1/2 inches long.
Adding the last section, quilt measures approximately 88 in.²
I then added the 2 1/2 solid green border.
I used up all of orphan blocks except for some nine patches. I have this box of squares left and I think I’m going to piece together some kind of border.
