It’s hard to believe that it is February 20 already, the month is moving so fast. It won’t be long and The Civil War Anniversary Quilt book will be out. I’m assuming that I will have copies here the first week of May. This book is a little bit different in the fact that there are three quilts in the book. Each quilt is made for a different level of quilter, the first being very traditional easy blocks, the second quilt is a little bit traditional with some of my own designs and the third quilt is blocks with a lot of pieces, original designs. I will also have a electric quilt CD that will be available with the book. This book will not have 121 patterns as the other books, it will have 150 patterns, one for each year of the Civil War anniversary. The blocks are all 6 inches again and are interchangeable with my other books.
This is the first quilt in the book, it has mostly traditional blocks and would be great for a beginner quilter. Each quilt finishes 82 in.² . This quilt was made using mostly fabrics from my Civil War stash.
The second quilt has some traditional blocks and not as many pieces as the third quilt. This quilt uses the Civil War lady fabric that Marcus fabrics reproduced for this quilt and they will be released in March at your area quilt shops.
The last Quilt has more pieces than the other Quilts and even a little bit of appliqué. It was made using the Civil War tribute fabrics from Marcus fabrics.
I am really excited as I look forward to the release of this next book. The World War II book which will be my next in the series will be released sometime in October.
This weekend my granddaughter whose family will be adopting a little boy and girl from Ethiopia made her first quilt for the orphanages. She is only eight years old and was so proud of her quilt.
Wishing you all a wonderful week of stitching, if you have any questions at all, just let me know.
