It is hard to believe that the month of December is here, so much fun and preparation for the holidays ahead. We were supposed to wake up to a snowy morning but the snow drifted elsewhere. It has been a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine in Grand Rapids Michigan.
Since we finished the newspaper series of the Mother Goose last month, today we will start another series. We are going to work in the next year on the alphabet quilt series. Two blocks will be provided every month. It is such a delightful series, not only the patterns but the instructions written by Florence La Ganke. This pattern ran for 25 consecutive Sundays in 1930. The blocks are 6 inch blocks and are easy enough even for the beginner at appliqué. The blocks can also be completed with embroidery.
We have two more six-inch blocks to add to our collection, when you finish these two you will now have 24 blocks. It is amazing how fast the blocks accumulate in numbers.
The flower garden pattern of the month is the Cosmos.
