It certainly has been a warm and muggy summer here in the states. Plenty of time to stay in the air conditioning and stitch. I worked on a couple of extra things for the upcoming book release but otherwise I am just waiting for my final editing. I have received a lot of requests about the lady fabric on the cover of the next book. The Civil War lady fabric was released about 10 years ago by Judie Rothermel, I chose to use it in at least a dozen blocks in the book, I am really thrilled to say that Marcus Brothers contacted me today and will be re-releasing the fabric when the book is released. There will be plenty of the fabric available for those that would like to use the fabric in their quilt.
I think I posted earlier about some of the other fabrics that I used in my upcoming book.
I am continuing to keep up with the Barbara Brackman Civil War blocks this summer, for those of you that do not know, Barbara Brackman posts a Civil War block on her blog every week along with some wonderful Civil War history and is going to do so for the entire year.
Otherwise I have been spending my time working on a scrap quilt that I am designing, I was inspired by an antique quilt that we saw in Shipshewana the last time we were at a dear Jane quilt gathering. I really have enjoyed working with shirtings and I think will continue to do so.
Next week I will be posting the patterns for the month of September, I hope that each of you enjoy the rest of your summer and the upcoming holiday weekend.
