I hope that you are finding plenty of time to stitch, I am sending you a picture of the cover of the next Civil War Quilt book. The Civil War Anniversary Quilts book will be released in May 2012. This book will have 150 blocks instead of the 121 blocks that The Civil War Diary and the Civil War Love Letter book contained. I chose to put 150 blocks in this book, each block commemorating a year for the 150 years of the Civil War anniversary.
This book will also be a little bit different because there are three quilts in this book, each of the quilts have 49 blocks, and measures 82 in.² . For those of you that like larger quilts, there are plenty of blocks to choose from to make a king-size quilt. One quilt has all traditional blocks, the second quilt has some traditional with original blocks, the third quilt has all original blocks. There are three special label blocks that were made by my daughter, Amy, also in the book.
Each block will be accompanied by either a Men’s Civil War diary entry, a Woman’s Civil War diary entry or a love letter from the Civil War. The blocks are all 6 inches as they are in the other books.
I will provide more information as it arrives here. Back to working on my scrap quilt using my 1890s reproduction fabrics, one of these days I’m going to work on a project that doesn’t have a million pieces. Stay cool and keep stitching.
