I hope this e-mail finds you stitching and staying cool with the heat wave here in the states. Thank you all for all your e-mails and complements on my lollipop quilt. I started on another project from my UFO list, I guess this might be the year I will finish up some of those UFOs.
Two six-inch blocks have been added, love the fabrics. It is going to make a really interesting quilt someday. I did receive an e-mail this week from a group that wants to use the blocks to teach a Civil War class, that is absolutely fine, I’m glad that so many have been having so much fun with blocks.
The eighth Baltimore block and two more nursery rhyme patterns are available, the nursery rhyme patterns for the month are Humpty Dumpty and Jack Sprat. I think one of the greatest things about the patterns from the 1930s is just reading the instructions and what it says about the patterns. I think that their fabric choices and ways of doing things are so different from what we do today, it is kind of like going back in history sometimes. If you didn’t have the chance this week, make sure you check out the grandmother Garden quilt patterns that I downloaded, they are just so much fun to read.
Enjoy your weekend, stay cool and I hope you find some special time to stitch. In the meantime if you have any questions, e-mail me anytime.
