It is hard to believe that April is almost here, I will be heading out next week Wednesday for four wonderful days in Shipshewana, Indiana at the Dear Jane retreat. I cannot wait, all the wonderful people to visit with, great food and beautiful fabrics to buy. I will make sure that I take plenty of pictures and let you know all about my adventure. One of my daughters goes with me and that makes it even more special.
April’s patterns have been posted, I also
posted a picture of the blocks. I have to laugh as I feel that my flower garden block, my hyacinth, almost looks like a corn on the cob. I am enjoying hearing from so many that are working on the blocks, if you have any other questions, just e-mail me anytime.
The nursery rhyme patterns for this month for embroidery are Old King Cole and Mary had a Little Lamb. Two more 6 inch blocks have been added to your collection. Speaking of 6 inch blocks, I’m actually thrilled to say that the quilts for the next book are starting to make their way to the editor. It has been a lot of fun designing and now I will be spending a lot of time working on the manuscript.
When I am doing historical research with the Civil War diaries and letters, I’m amazed at how many wonderful people that I run into a different libraries, universities, and historical societies online. People are just so helpful and go way out of their way to help.
I think we are finally going to have spring weather here in Michigan, we have one little pile of snow left to melt in our yard and I think they said we are going to have a little bit more snow this weekend and then we should be finished with it until next winter. The flower bulbs are peeking through the earth here and will start blooming before we know it.
Enjoy your day today, I hope the sun is shining wherever you are.
