There are so many beautiful collections of Civil War fabrics on the market right now, we are really lucky to have so many choices. I thought I would share with you some of the fabrics that I’m using in the quilts for the next book.
As you have seen in my previous e-mails, some of the blocks that I have shown you that I have been working on, I’m using Judy Rothermel’s Civil War tribute fabrics, two really important fabrics that I think you should have in your collection are the following toiles. I have had a lot of fun designing blocks and using these two fabrics. I am really using a lot of these fabrics for focus fabrics in the blocks, I really love the special touch that they are adding to the quilt.
This collection of fabrics are by Marcus Brothers also and are called Bonnie Blue Basics, most of the prints are really small and will go with almost any other Civil War fabrics. They come in such a variety of colors. There are 18 pieces in the collection.
This collection is the Cocheco Mills Collection from the American Textile History Museum. I really like how the patriot colors add to the Civil War blocks. It is so wonderful that we are given so many choices of fabrics to make our Civil War quilts. They’re just too many to mention. Most One of my favorite things that I like is that Civil War collections can be combined to create a treasured quilt. Every quilt and block should be a journey as you choose your fabrics.
Have a wonderful weekend stitching, if you get to the fabrics store, check out all of the beautiful new Civil War collections of fabric.
