The snow is slowly melting here, thankful for that. Spring is around the corner, trees will soon be budding and the flowers will start blooming. After 110 inches of snow this winter, it sounds so good.
So thrilled as another project is finished out of the Tupperware. I only have two projects left. If you would’ve told me that in September when I took all those project out of my closet, I would not have believed it. I figured I would be taking most of the projects down to Shipshewana Indiana to the retreat and just leaving them there for anyone that wanted to finish them. Lol
I had signature blocks in my Tupperware starting back in 1998. Collected plenty more since then and put together one signature quilts and decided I would take the signature blocks that were left and make a backing for my next orphan Quilt.
I had beaver Island, Jo Morton , Civil War diary and my dear Jane triangle swap. It was really hard to know what to do with the dear Jane triangle swap, I decided that I was not going to trim my blocks down into triangles so I removed one end and made them into squares.
I started with my small Jo Morton squares and decided to run them across the top,
I took the extra blocks and made a couple of squares.
Then I just slowly started adding the 6 inch dear Jane triangles and Civil War diary swap blocks. I even added a couple of Civil War orphan blocks
After using all of those blocks I decided to put my beaver Island blocks at the bottom. The quilt back finished at about 80 x 85″. I think it will make a beautiful back to the next orphan block quilt and they won’t be sitting in my Tupperware for another 15 years.
So that leaves me two projects, these blocks which I’m kind of saving to work on the retreat in Shipshewana,
And the last of the orphan blocks that I’m going to put together that will be used with the signature blocks back. Some of them recently just became orphans. LOL
Hope you have an amazing day today,
