I’m looking forward to the cooler weather, to the leaves falling and collecting pumpkins in the pumpkin patch, Fall is definitely my favorite season. I also love the cooler weather. I actually started Christmas shopping, I have never started that early but with 8 grandchildren this year, I wanted to save that special time during the holidays for baking cookies, making gingerbread houses and simple things like that.
Trying to get really organized here, the sixth book manuscript was finished in August, thought it was time to do some cleaning. Reorganized my entire fabric closet, wanted to do it by color but kept it by collections.
Also pulled out all of my UFOs and orphan blocks out of the closet. I have never done that since I started quilting. Usually I try to focus on one main Quilt each year and finish it up. I was really surprised, I must really love my Civil War projects because I just basically had orphan blocks left there, quite a few, I bet 100 blocks, have about five boxes of 1930s project and three Tupperware’s of baby quilts or brights. Decided I’m going to make a couple of orphan block quilts, one from the Civil War quilt blocks and one from the 1930s blocks. I will see what I can make from the Tupperwares on my ironing board from the closet. I guess it is time to just finish some things up or to pass them on to someone else.
My main focus for this coming year Is three projects from the book Primarily Quilts by Di Ford. I have talked about this wonderful book before, I am working on the antique wedding sampler, Road 66 and Rotherfields Grey Quilt, it was really hard just to pick three out of the book to work on right now because I want to do all of them.
Just enjoying life here, Spending time with children and grandchildren, looking forward to holiday festivities and looking forward now to working in my sewing room and finishing up some UFO’s.
