Good evening,
It just keeps snowing here in Michigan, it has been a week of much snow and very treacherous driving. Hope that all of you are staying safe and warm inside. It was one of those weeks where it was just worth it to stay home and stitch.
I guess this is the year of the blocks of the week, working on different sets of blocks with friends.
We are doing two blocks every week on the Civil War Yahoo group. Foundation piecing instructions are given for one block and rotary cutting instructions are given for another block. The blocks are from the Civil War Anniversary Quilt book.

It is never too late to start, feel free to join us anytime.
I am doing Barbara Brackman, Grandmothers Choice blocks, Her blocks can be found here.

I am using pink and brown reproduction fabrics for these Blocks.
I am also doing the Jo Morton block of the week, It is called the Leesburg sew along. It is a beautiful sampler quilt designed by Candy Hargrove using Jo Morton fabrics. Some quilters are using fabrics from the Leesburg collection of Jo’s, Others are going with the more scrappy look as I am .It’s fun to see the different fabrics that everyone is using. You can find the pattern here.

Here are my blocks so far. The blocks are posted every Monday morning on the Jo Morton list.
Country Thread has an online sampler, free patterns are posted the first of every month. If you go here, and you can see the quilt that we will be making this year and the first blocks.

Here are my first two blocks.
Temecula quilt company is making a small quilt with the Judie Rothermel 25th anniversary collection. Five blocks were posted on Friday and five more will be posted for the next four weeks. It is a total of 25 blocks and the quilt finishes 40 in.². I am not using the anniversary collection, I am using up some of my sock monkey fabric to make another baby quilt. If you would like to check it out, you can find the first post here.

Here are my blocks,
It seems like a lot of projects but the best thing about it is working on the block with friends. It is so much fun to share the blocks and progress with each other.
I am planning on posting February’s free patterns tomorrow. No matter what you were working on, stay warm.
Happy stitching,
Rosemary

WOW!!!! That is a lot of blocks!! I don’t know how you are doing all of those. I suppose you are writing your next book in your spare time, too! I hope you keep sharing all of these – such fun!
I love seeing all the BOM’s, but I never have time to work on them, so I just enjoy seeing what others do. No machine quilting this week, seems this is my year for colds, so sticking to small projects that I can do in my lap.

The Jo Morton Quilt is very nice. It’s on my todo list…
