Good evening,
We are really excited here, we received some news about our grandchildren from Ethiopia. As some of you know my daughter and her husband and my son and his wife are each adopting two children from Ethiopia. My daughter and son-in-law received pictures of thier children, the little girl is about 18 months old and a little boys about nine months old. They are brother and sister. They are just darling, I am looking so forward to being their grandmother.
They are expecting their first trip to Ethiopia in February, they will go for approximately 10 days and spend time with their children and fill out paperwork for the country and then they have to return your states for about six weeks until the paperwork is finished and then they would travel back to bring the children home. It is such an exciting time for our family.
We are busy making plenty of quilts to send for the orphanages, we are planning on sending at least 50-100 quilts with them on each of their trips. A big thank you to all of you that have helped us with this ministry this past year. We have now sent quilts to orphanages in Romania, Haiti, Uganda and Ethiopia.
My granddaughters and daughter were here last week, we had so much fun making sundresses for them to take to Ethiopia also. We actually bought a bolt of smocked fabric, they were so very easy to make. If you are trying to get your granddaughters into sewing, even a six-year-old make one of these.
Have a great evening,
Happy stitching

That is wonderful news, and it is wonderful that they could adopt a brother and sister and keep them together. I love those dresses, they are so cute. I will get going and finish the ones I started and try to get at least one more in there, wish I could think clearer so I could quilt faster.

Wow, what a bundle of blessings you have coming your way! My former pastor and his wife adopted a little girl from India and will soon be traveling to India to adopt a second girl. I’m making rag quilts for both of the girls. Cobgratulations…you know we want photos !
Forgot to add..when my girls were little…40 yrs ago..i had a friend who’s mom worked in a factory that made the very same smocked fabric. She made tons of those little dresses for my girls. So cute!
