Dear friends,
We are not going to have a white Christmas here in Grand Rapids Michigan, I was hoping that some of the snow would come our way, we had a very light dusting of snow but not the couple of inches as the weatherman told us we were getting. Just be safe, I know that some of you have more snow than you know what to do with.
We usually make gingerbread houses at Christmas time, this year when I was in a store, I ran across these gingerbread trees. My grandchildren are nine, six and five and these were the perfect project for them. We didn’t have to worry about trying to get the sides of the houses to stand up, they just frosted between the cookies to get the trees together and then decorated.
Thank you to all of those that have pre-ordered the World War II book, I have a large pile of orders waiting for the books to arrive. I am hoping that they arrive at the end of next week, Hoping to get them out in the mail around the first of the year. I certainly will let you know when they get here.
I will also post the free patterns For the month of January a little bit early for those that have plenty of time during the holidays to do a little extra stitching. I will get to that next week.
I always like to spend a lot of time processing what projects I’m going to work on next year. Sometimes I choose way too many, I have four things right now that I want to focus on. One of them is my Lancaster diamonds, I am on my eighth set so I am a little bit over halfway finished. I really would like to get that quilt finished and put together before the end of the year.
Another thing I would really like to work on is the second Phebe quilt, I have plenty of stars to make. All my stars are cut out and ready to go. I could make star quilts forever, that is definitely my favorite quilt block.
I’m also having a lot of fun working on the Barbara Brackman weekly block, Grandmother’s Choice. I’m using Kaffee Fassett fabrics, just love those bright colors. It is just fun to look forward to that block every Saturday morning.
The fourth project is the orphanage quilts, We are just having such a great time sending quilts all over the world. My daughter and her husband and my son and his wife will each be making two trips to Ethiopia this year, going to send as many quilts with them as we can. Thanks to all of you that have taken the time to make quilts or donate fabric or blocks to our Organization.
I hope that each of you have fun choosing different projects to work on next year. Enjoy the next couple of weeks, enjoy the holiday season.
Have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Love, Rosemary

Just love those stars! My favorite block as well! We need to a star block exchange one of these days!? Love the trees the kids made!! I’ll have to try those since the gingerbread house walls didn’t stay put. Happy Holidays again to you, Rosemary!
Merry Christmas and Many Happy Returns, Rosemary.
Wonderful versions of the quilts, always fun to try new types of fabrics.
I need to get back to my quilts so I can get them off to you. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday.
Debbie

Also love all of those Phebe stars…maybe you will want to make THREE of those quilts after all! Lol! Your projects are all wonderful – I forgot about Lancaster diamonds – those are so amazing. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
